HELSTON departed the King George V Playing Fields with their tails between their legs after they were walloped 8-0 in the first round of the Jolly's Combination League Cup.
It took Perranwell just 13 minutes to open the scoring when Scott Kinge was brought down in the box. He dusted himself off and then planted his spotkick past Barry Hennessy.
Perranwell added a second goal in the 19th minute when Jake Harvey provided the cross for Mike Brewer to head past Hennessy.
With Helston looking leaden-footed it came as no surprise that Perran should snap up a third goal when T J Wilson brushed through the visiting defence to score.
Helston’s cup hopes were left in tatters when Perran scored a fourth goal before half-time with Harvey scoring from close range.
In the second half it became one-way traffic as Helston found it difficult to mount attacks of any note and their woes were characterised when Jason Robertson was sent off for two yellow cards.
The route was completed with goals from Matt Rose, Adam Selley, Kinge and Peter Brewer.
