AN inspired double substitution by Perranwell boss Dave Fisher midway through the second half helped his side claim a place in the second round, after they eventually saw off a resilient Holmans outfit on Saturday.
The home side, top of the Jolly's Combination League, were leading by a single goal at the time, scored by TJ Wilson with a superb strike just before half-time.
But Perranwell were struggling to make the tie safe against a brave Holmans side, who had gone close in the first half through Mark Wade, Nicky Medlin and Rob Hopkins, as well as an Andy Hill effort that flew just over the bar.
Fisher introduced Matt Rose and Steve Allen after 65 minutes and both immediately got on the scoresheet as Perran bagged four goals in the last 25 minutes to run out comfortable winners.
First Rose headed home Adam Selley's cross and two minutes later fellow sub Allen sidefooted the third past Williams from another Selley cross.
With the floodgates finally open Perranwell created numerous chances to extend their lead in the closing stages but had to wait until the last five minutes for striker Steve Brewer to score two fine individual goals that finally put the gloss on Perranwell's victory.
Perranwell: S Easterbrook, A Selley, S Selley, H Gibbon (S Allen), J Hoon, TJ Wilson, M Brewer, S Brewer, S Kinge, J Harvey (M Rose), J Blundell
